How do you get Snorlax to wake up on Pokemon GameBoy game?

I’m asking this question for the 8 year old boy, that I nanny for…he is obsessed with Pokemon. He got a GameBoy for Xmas and hasn’t put it down since. The game is Pokemon Fire something (Sorry, I dont know exactly). He has tried just about everything to waken the Snorlaxs up (he “bought” awakening, tried to “bike” around him, amung other things) I looked in the instructions, but there is nothing about Snorlax. Please help!

you need the pokeflute. you find that in the city that is purpleish, and has the ghost graveyard. it’s south of the dark tunnel, and is the eastern most town in a cross ways of five towns you can see on the map

in this city, in the pokemon ghost tower, you need to beat the last ghost, and save the man. but before you can even do that, you need to get the silph scope. go to the western most town, and the first large building you see will have a woman inside that gives you tea. you can now go to the center town, by giving that tea to the guards. in the center town, the middle of the town has the largest dungeon in the game.

and it can be confusing, especially for a younger child. there are teleport pads that mix things up.

when you beat that, you will get the silph scope lying around in there, and can now rescue mr fuji in the ghost tower. then he’ll give you the pokeflute.
